FIE (Foundation for International Education) is delighted to announce its annual Student Global Leadership Conference, now fully virtual and open to university students, leadership educators and higher education professionals around the world, completely free of charge.
FIE is the leading UK and Ireland study abroad provider, a non-profit organization offering both internship and study abroad opportunities, with a particular specialization in leadership studies. We created this conference in 2013 and have traditionally run it in-person in London, but due to the ongoing pandemic we are delivering this special event virtually and without charge for 2021.
Ordinarily an in-person event, the 2021 conference has been completely reimagined to be a virtual experience. There will be keynote sessions as well as break-out panel sessions delivered by an array of international leadership experts across a variety of disciplines. Students can attend the entire conference, or opt into any sessions that are of most interest to them.
The welcome address will be given by Dr. Michael Genovese, Director of the Global Policy Institute at Loyola Marymount University, a frequent CNN correspondent and one of the founders of the Student Global Leadership Conference. Keynote speakers will be Dr. Cath Bishop, former gold-medal winning Olympian rower and British diplomat, and Judy Ling Wong, a painter, poet, honorary President of the Black Environment Network and an expert in sustainable development.
A variety of breakout sessions will cover topics including Global Community Resilience, Empowering Women as Leaders, Transformational Leadership, Enacting Positive Change, Changing Leadership and more. The conference will be held through Zoom and will allow faculty and educators the unique opportunity to use the breakout room facility as a means to incorporate any number of the conference sessions into your own courses or lectures.
This is a unique opportunity for students to not only attend but also have a global leadership conference on their resume. Any major can attend.
